Episode 11 Hurricane Galveston

Hi, thanks for listening PLSD school chats. This episode is about the depressing time of the worst natural disaster of all time. Natural disasters are things that not humans make out things that just naturally happen. Hurricane Galveston formed by the hot air or water vapor is above the cold water and the wind is at a certain speed it makes the ocean water circle around and make lots of wind. That's meakes hurricane Galveston a natural disaster because the wind happens naturally.  On September 8th, 1900. The people in Galveston, Texas didn’t know it yet but the thing that happened that day was soon to be the worst natural disaster of all time. The hurricane swept in. With winds as high as 140 miles per hour and ending up killing over 8,000 people that was 20% of the island population. The Galveston hurricane was a category 4 hurricane which is almost as highest hurricane category it could be. But not the category or the winds made it the worst natural disaster of all time. What made it the worst was the damage that hurricane made to the small island of Galveston. In that hurricane over Thirty-six hundred buildings were destroyed and if the people of the island where to fix the damages it would cost approximately 20 million dollars. The Galveston hurricane was depressing to many people. But, Soon everybody rebuilt the town and the town of Galveston is now a nice town and you now can never tell that the worst natural disaster happened there.
